Mivan Builds on Dubai Success
Mivan has won its second contract in six months on one of the most prestigious projects in the Middle East.

Last December the Antrim based company won a $600,000 contract to supply formwork for one of the tallest residential buildings in the Middle East – phase one of the Al Fattan Towers project in Dubai.
Now Mivan will help construct a second giant 245m-high tower as the next phase of the Al Fattan contract.
Mivan’s Formwork System is currently being used to construct the first of the two new 51-storey residential towers (pictured). Dubai contractor Arabtec Construction (LLC) has been so impressed by the quality and speed of the formwork system that they have awarded Mivan the contract to build the second tower.
Commenting on the announcement, Mivan CEO Ivan McCabrey said: “Mivan was delighted to win the contract for the first tower so soon after opening our Dubai office.
“Winning the contract for the second Al Fattan tower is a significant vote of confidence in Mivan and in our ability to build to the word-class standards demanded in the region.
“I am confident that this will help boost Mivan’s prestige in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and we look forward to bidding for further prestigious contracts in the region.”
The Al Fattan development is in the heart of Dubai’s prestigious Marina Complex, which has been designed as a city of the future with hotels, shopping centres and recreational facilities as well as apartment towers.
Once complete, the twin Al Fattan Towers will stand at 245m high, - five times taller than Belfast’s Europa Hotel.
Mivan’s Formwork System was first used on-site by Arabtec Construction (LLC) in March of this year and has already made a significant impact. Phases one and two of the Al Fattan Towers project are scheduled for completion before the end of 2005.
Mivan again paid tribute to Invest Northern Ireland (INI) for its continued support in Dubai. Mivan established its technical sales office in INI’s Dubai Technology and Development Centre in September 2003 and has since benefited from INI’s resources and support to help build new contacts and opportunities in the region.
