Rigging, Installation & Comissioning

Mivan's in house rigging company, UA Comms, have been providing services to the telecommunications and broadcast industries for over 30 years.

In the telecommunications arena they offer:

• Site surveys
• Installation and commissioning of PCN antennae systems and microwave links
• System upgrades, link capacity upgrades and antenna system optimisation
• Installation of feeder cables and wave-guides including cable management systems
• Fall arrest system installation and certification
• Site upgrades, tower installations and tower extensions
• Design, fabrication and installation of secondary antennae support steelwork
• Telecommunication cabin/cabinet supply, fit out and installation

All rigging teams are trained and competent in tower climbing, RF awareness, rooftop access, rope access and also hold other important safety qualifications such as tower rescue and first aid certification. They have specific training on the equipment, products and systems they install and commission. The riggers on site are supported by Rigging Managers and Rigging Engineers as well as dedicated administrators, and also have the support of the design, build and Health & Safety and Environmental departments of Mivan.

UA Comms operates out of Mivan's offices in Manchester. By offering in house rigging services Mivan is able to not only ensure that sites are handed over as completed jobs, but that this is done in the most timely and efficient manner retaining control throughout so that sites are completed on time and on or under budget.
