The wireless communications industry works in a rapidly changing world, where the necessity to rollout new networks in the fastest and most efficient manner is essential.
As part of the response to these fast track network rollout demands, Mivan has invested in the development of a bespoke Information Management System know as MOSIS. (Mivan Operational Site Information System)
Project control, monitoring and reporting are facilitated through the use of MOSIS. The database allows clients read-only web access with the facility to print out real-time reports.
MOSIS is developed on a Microsoft Access database platform and consists of a set of pre-defined fields/tables. These fields/tables are updated through a series of input screens and reported on through a suite of online reports as illustrated in the chart below.
Table definition, input screens and report content/format, can be easily customised to satisfy user requirements, ensuring effective management of specific project deliverables and time scales.
The access, accuracy and concurrency of information are managed through agreed procedures and protocols, (manual or automatic/server based) dependent on the systems integration capabilities of both parties.
Several different versions of MOSIS are currently being used on a number of wireless network rollouts in Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The user friendly nature of the package together with its ease of customisation make MOSIS an invaluable management tool to both Mivan and their customer base.
