Further Success for Mivan Formwork

Further Success for Mivan Formwork

17 June 2005

Following on from a successful 2004, Mivan has secured another prestigious project for its aluminium system formwork in Dubai, with the award of the Fortune Tower Project at Jumeirah Lake Towers.

Pictured is one of Mivan's current formwork projects - the Golden Sands Tower Main contractor IJM Construction (Middle East) L.L.C., impressed with the Mivan System’s track record for quality and speed, will use the company’s specialist aluminium formwork to complete the typical floors of the Fortune Tower. Once complete, the tower will stand at 34 storeys high and will be amongst the first buildings to be completed at the Jumeirah Lake Towers development. Commenting on the Fortune Tower contract, Mivan CEO Dr. Ivan McCabrey said: “The Mivan System’s ability to provide rapid, high quality and cost effective formwork solutions to some of Dubai’s most prestigious high-rise projects has been key to its continued success in the market.” “We are delighted to be working with IJM Construction (Middle East) for the first time.” Mivan’s System Formwork has already been used successfully to construct two of the Middle East’s tallest residential buildings, phases one and two of the Al Fattan Towers project at Dubai Marina, for Arabtec Construction (LLC). Both towers are scheduled for completion before the end of 2005 and will stand at 245m high. The Mivan System is also currently being used by Al Shafar General Contracting Co. to complete the 41-storey Golden Sands Tower project on Sheikh Zayed Road. In addition to this latest contract award in Dubai, the company is also celebrating recent contract wins in Thailand and Malaysia. Mivan (Thailand) will use the company’s specialist aluminium formwork to construct 3,000 homes over the next two years as the first phase of the Ua Athorn project, a project being developed by the National Housing Authority of Thailand in Bangkok’s sprawling Min Buri district. The formwork contract is valued at over US$3million. Whilst in Malaysia the company has secured the award of four 41-storey residential towers in Penang, which will require some 10,000m2 of Mivan System Formwork. The Mivan System is designed and manufactured from lightweight aluminium panels, which can be used over 250 times, resulting in excellent cost efficiency. The high strength to weight ratio of the Mivan System’s components also avoids the need for cranage in the operation of the equipment on site, as each and every component can be erected, dismantled and moved by hand, thus providing the main contractor with further time and cost savings. The modular nature of the System’s components and the simplicity in erection and dismantling of the equipment enhances labour productivity and reduces operatives training periods. Mivan Formwork has a proven track record for the rapid construction of low, medium and high-rise residential and commercial projects throughout South East Asia and the Middle East, including Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines. It is widely recognized as one of the world’s fastest and most versatile formwork systems, with a typical floor-to-floor construction cycle of just four days. « Go Back
