Mivan Kier - the 50/50 joint venture between Kier Construction and Mivan Limited has been awarded an £11m water supply project in Romania on behalf of the Romanian Government.

The project is an extension to Mivan Kier’s existing contract to design and construct water supply schemes in various rural locations within southern counties of Romania and will include the drilling of wells, the supply and installation of pumps; water treatment plants; storage tanks and delivery pipework. During design the quality of the water source will be taken into account to determine the required treatment. The construction phase will create many jobs and when complete in December 2006, the scheme will provide a potable water supply to villages that previously only had wells. The project is expected to cover 20 individual water supply schemes. Mivan Kier has shared a four year relationship with the client during which time they have undertaken the construction of 60 previous water supply schemes plus the construction of social housing projects throughout Romania. « Go Back
