Mivan Limited-Telecoms, a division of the Mivan Group, has won a three-year contract with Crown Castle UK Limited, the UK’s leading provider of transmission network infrastructure, to provide design and build services on a UK-wide basis. Mervyn McCall, Director of Business Development at Mivan said, “We have been working with Crown Castle on a regional level for several years and we are delighted that they have the confidence in Mivan to undertake the contract at a national level.” Graham Greener, Director of Site Operations at Crown Castle added, “This is the first national design and build contract that Crown Castle has entered into and it cements a relationship that has developed between us and Mivan over the last four years.” Mivan’s contract covers the design, build & rigging of 2G and 3G base stations for Crown Castle’s ‘REACH’ portfolio of sites. The work will be delivered through Mivan’s UK-wide infrastructure deployment and engineering network in Manchester and Glasgow in the North, Dunstable in the East and South East, Bristol in the West and their Antrim office in Northern Ireland. In 2000 Crown Castle signed an agreement with BT to encourage the development of BT’s telephone exchanges as sites for mobile phone base stations. These sites form the ‘REACH’ portfolio and, because of their strategic location and, in many cases direct access to BT’s fibre network are ideally suited for development. Since the Mivan Telecoms business was founded in 1997, it has grown into one of the top UK mobile telecom infrastructure suppliers. « Go Back
