2012 is shaping up to a busy year for Mivan, as the company secures a number of contracts in the cruise ship industry.
The company announced last week at Cruise Shipping Miami that it has secured over £4 million of cruise ship outfitting orders for 2012 in Europe. The largest of these contracts is the c£1.7 million re- fit of the Crystal Symphony for Crystal Cruises. The 2 week fit -out will take place in June in Blohm & Voss, Hamburg. This is the second contract Mivan has secured with the Crystal Cruises following the successful fit-out of the retail areas of the Crystal Serenity in May 2011.
Other notable contracts include Mivan's first contract with Pullmantur Cruises for the refit of the MV Horizon as well as the Saga Sapphire refit for Saga Shipping, both of which will be carried out in the first quarter of this year.
The cruise ship industry continues to be lucrative for Mivan as the Company delivered over £10 million in this sector during 2011, working for long standing clients Princess Cruises, Cunard Line and Carnival UK.
Mivan Business Development Director Stephen Mills said, "It is encouraging to get off to a quick start in 2012. The cruise ship market continues to be an integral part of Mivan's business. The recent success the Company has enjoyed in this sector is a testament to Mivan's project management teams who are well known to our client base and fully understand the time pressures and attention to detail required in this environment"
This year has also seen Mivan open an office on the south coast of England. The Southampton base will help the Company to further service the ongoing maintenance and interiors requirements of our clients in this Cruise Ship Industry. The office, which will house a dedicated Mivan team, opened in February 2012 at City West, Millbrook Road East.
