Luxury hotel fit-out for Mivan

Specialist contractor Mivan Limited has secured a number of packages at the new, luxury Bulgari Hotel & Residences in London totalling over £8m.

Mivan’s scope includes the fit-out of the hotel public areas including the restaurant, lobby and ballroom areas. In addition, Mivan will also be delivering the interiors for the luxury Spa which includes the swimming pool, sauna, treatment rooms, spa reception, beauty salon and fitness suite. The project is underway and Mivan will complete its element of works by the autumn of 2011. The hotel will be open in time for the 2012 Olympic Games. The project team includes construction managers Sir Robert McAlpine, architects Squire & Partners and quantity surveyors Gardiner & Theobald. Mivan will be working directly for client Prime Development. Speaking about the contract award, Mivan’s Chief Executive Ivan McCabrey commented “Mivan is making great strides in the luxury hotel market. This sector forms an important part of our strategy and Mivan is proud to be associated with this project. We understand the benchmark of quality that is required and our interior fit-out capability and experience certainly steps up to the mark. ” Mivan is currently working on a high-profile residential project in Knightsbridge and also at the Grosvenor House Apartments on Park Lane. The development will become the first five-star, luxury, new build hotel in central London in almost 40 years and will occupy the site of the Knightsbridge Palace Hotel. Built in 1911 it was designed by Paul Hoffman, a Viennese-born architect. The hotel was renamed ‘The Normandie Hotel’ in 1937. In 1977 it closed and the upper floors were converted to apartments for holiday lets.
